Fun, Family, Friends, Fitness, Finance, Faith and Forecast Friday

Fun:
In these hectic times, and the day shortening, let’s get as much joy in as possible. It starts with being intentional about it and thankful to GOD for it. Often, it doesn’t take as much as a change in attitude about how we view the small things. Sow into your family’s joy. Make your spouse and kids laugh before leave for the day and when you see them. It could be as simple as giving them new nicknames or remembering something funny from the past…whatever it takes. Get joyful and give it away…

Comedy of the Week:

Family:
Let’s organize the chores around peace, gifting, relationship-building and roles. Some great things happen when we accomplish things together as a family. It is everyone’s job to keep the dwelling place clean in a family. Important lessons can be taught to youngsters and quality time can be spent together. Some of the best multitasking is when wisdom, love and order is shared by a family straightening up together…responsibility builds relationships

Friends:
Be mindful to entertain strangers as you may find a new friend…there are incredible people all around. Some who have similarities to our personalities and preferences…others…not so much. Not every friend should look like you and think like you anyway. Either way…If you endeavor to joyfully help someone else, once you introduce yourself, you may have find a friend. Go help, introduce yourself, converse…make friends…

Fitness:
Make your commute part of your daily exercise. Park your car further way or get off the bus or train a stop earlier and walk a few more blocks. Of course, this means leaving for work a little earlier, getting up earlier and going to sleep earlier…here are more simple fitness ideas:

Finance:
Check out these articles on the power of loose change:

Faith:
Give your worries to GOD. Once prayed about trust HIM to see you through…Be encouraged
2 Corinthians 4:13-16
Common English Bible (CEB)
13 We have the same faithful spirit as what is written in scripture, I had faith, and so I spoke. We also have faith, and so we also speak. 14 We do this because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus will also raise us with Jesus, and he will bring us into his presence along with you. 15 All these things are for your benefit. As grace increases to benefit more and more people, it will cause gratitude to increase, which results in God’s glory.
16 So we aren’t depressed. But even if our bodies are breaking down on the outside, the person that we are on the inside is being renewed every day.

Forecast:
Prepare for the future with purpose. Write down your vision and have an accountability partner read it and hold you accountable…
Get your plans in action…

Thirsty Thursday: Desiring Lentil Soup [Pottage] Over Our Birthright

Gen 25:29  And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint:
Gen 25:30  And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.
Gen 25:31  And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
Gen 25:32  And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?
Gen 25:33  And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.
Gen 25:34  Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

Thirst misplaced led to Esau being displaced. He hocked his kingdom and pawned his priesthood for red water. Did realize what he was doing? Yes…we should never treat what GOD has ordained frivolously…

What was the birthright?
The birthright was an ordination by GOD to lead the family and future nation. It entailed:
1)      The priesthood for the family [to intercede with GOD on their behalf]
2)      A double portion of the inheritance [weighted blessing comes with weighted responsibility]
3)      Succession of his father as king of the tribe, family or nation
Our rebirth right is the promises of GOD via the finished work of Y’SHUA [JESUS] our YHWH [LORD]

What was in Esau’s lifestyle, behavior, heart and/or focus that indicated that he despised his birthright?
We see in Hebrews 12 the condition of Esau’s heart. It gives a clear picture as to why GOD bless a supplanter ahead of him. It reads:

Hebrews 12:14-17  Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:  (15)  Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;  (16)  Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.  (17)  For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

You see clearly, according to scripture that Esau was a fornicator and profane. The selling of his birthright was the last straw. You see, you see Esau was given over to reprobation and ultimately despised by GOD, not merely by the recalcitrant acts of fornication and profanity that marked his life but in his lack of repentance. It sentenced him. Failing of Grace is never accepting it in the first place. Willful sin that is preferred over GOD despises salvation, forgiveness, authority, the future generations of their family and GOD

In addition, The Targum of Jonathan, one of the oldest Jewish commentaries says regarding Esau in Genesis 25:29, that "on that day he [Esau] committed five transgressions; he performed strange worship (or committed idolatry), he shed innocent blood, he lay with a virgin betrothed, he denied the life of the world to come (or a future state), and despised the birthright;''

What can we take from Esau’s Flaws to Live Better?
1)      Honor GOD as our first and most important relationship
2)      Repent from sin and walk circumspect
3)      Value your blessings. Take nothing for granted – honor what you have inherited
4)      Hold the opposite sex in proper perspective – avoid lust
5)      Value future generations by investing love, time and wisdom…by taking and modeling responsibility

When GOD has ordained you to lead HIS people, passivity, nonchalance, disobedience and a lack of honor has ramifications. Let us walk worthy of our rebirth rights.

I love YOU and I love you

Watchful Witness Wednesday - 9-28-2011

Watching and Praying

Heavenly FATHER,

In the matchless name of Y’SHUA, our YHWH [LORD] and SAVIOR, we are taking heed as lights that shine in a dark place and the day is dawning…Hallelujah..For the DAYSTAR has risen in our hearts. Thank YOU that we are indeed brought and paid for…in turn, we pay tithes, pay homage and pay attention. We have taken YOUR notes and take notice of changes. Grace covers an abundance of sin and sin is abundant and pervasive…but YOUR Love is greater and more persuasive. There are families in need of wise leadership, provision and safety. There are hurting and wounded men who need to be strengthened, trained and encouraged to lead. So many households are struggling…but we trust and lean on YOU LORD. There is a lack of submission to authority, and rebellion against true wisdom. The elect are watching waiting and trusting YOU ABBA for peace, protection, stability and comfort. There are those who need healing from sin, circumstance and disease. YOU, ABBA are YHWH Raffa, our Healer. YOU are the blessing and healing. YOUR relationship with the church is marriage itself. Heal broken marriages, please Oh LORD. Let no man put asunder what YOU intend for oneness and love. We thank YOU for access, hope and comfort by the HOLY SPIRIT in JESUS name Amen

Thought Sparks: Minister Did You Notice?

Have you noticed the need for men’s ministry globally? Let us pray for safe havens for men to confess, dream and use their talents for the KING and HIS KINGDOM…

Have you noticed the increase in boyish aggressiveness of young females? Let us pray for lady-like mentors to help properly direct the increase in energy…

Have you noticed the gifts of someone else and invest in encouraging them long term? Let us be more intentional about encouraging others not just in distant prayer but with involvement…

Trivia, Terminology and Tough Question Tuesday - 9-27-2011

Trivia:
Who was Luke, who wrote the Gospel of Luke?
Luke was a Greek and the only Gentile author in the New Testament. He was a physician [Colossians 4:14] who paid great attention to detail and the humanity of CHRIST. He was also a disciple and friend of Paul and wrote the Book of Acts by the SPIRIT as a follow up to the Gospel of Luke

Terminology: Tetragrammaton
The Tetragrammaton literally means ‘the four letters of the word or name’. The four letters are the quadriliteral Hebrew word for the proper name for ADONAI, GOD or LORD, spelled YHWH. The Hebrew letters are Yod He Waw He. It is transliterated and pronounced YAHWEH and later JEHOVAH. It is used 7000 times in the Old Testament and 1000 time in the New Testament. This was used as to honor GOD and the Third Commandment, HIS true name was not to be announced by 2nd and 3rd Century Jews and is used by many today…

Tough Question: Can a Christian struggling with sin lose their salvation?
Answer: No
Once saved, eternally saved. Some rewards in Heaven can be lost though. However, one can question whether someone who will not repent, who honors a sin by defending it, habitually and stridently practicing it truly believes or was saved in the first place. The power of the Cross is forgiveness and access. Wheat and tare will grow together and GOD will do the sifting and separating in HIS time. No matter what we have done, it is forgivable, except blaspheming the HOLY SPIRIT (We will touch on what this is later). Confession and repentance is key…

1 John 1:5-9  This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.  (6)  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:  (7)  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.  (8)  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.  (9)  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Watchful Witness Wednesday: Did You Notice - Husbands, Stress and Financial Order

Watching and Praying

HEAVENLY FATHER,

In the matchless name of Y’SHUA our YHWH [JESUS our LORD] and by HOLY SPIRIT, we seek to dwell peacefully in the land of the living. DADDY it has become too popular to sow discontentment and discord as the basis for allegiance and brotherhood. Forgive us for murmuring and complaining in foolish shortsightedness. Forgive us for not removing the telephone poles from own eyes before we try to abruptly yank the splinter in someone else’s eye. Instead lead us to sympathetically and empathetically testify to the excruciating pain we experienced and the healing from GOD in order to gently help to remove our brother’s splinter. So, that other may also overcome by the word of their testimony and the Blood of the LAMB. We thank YOU for YOUR loving presence and authority. As we watch YOUR Hand move and pray to be blessings for others, guide us to discern the needs of others and supply provision that we may effectively minister. We trust YOU and YOUR plan as issues in the Middle East, in Washington, in Albany, in Gracie Mansion, in our school, in our neighborhoods and in our homes occur. Bless all leaders YOU have chosen with wisdom – from Presidents to parents in our homes. We are watching and praying for YOUR order and peace…the overwhelming influence of the HOLY SPIRIT. We love YOU LORD and thank YOU for YOUR guidance, direction, love, protection, vision and provision in JESUS Name…Amen

Thought Sparks: Minister Did You Notice?

Did you notice the reducing influence of husbands across the board in entertainment?   With so many shows with wives in the titles and no husbands on the shows [or even a show about husbands], it is vital that fatherhood and the role of husband be prayed for as our youth need examples…

Did you notice the increase in stress related health issues? As believers we need to be in position to listen and comfort those in need of peace…

Did you notice the microscope placed on Christian ministries by the IRS? We need to keep our houses in order both by watching [organizing and adhering to] our budgets, giving more and praying more…

I love YOU and I love you

Trivia, Terminology and Tough Question Tuesday

Trivia: Who was Matthew, who was inspired by the HOLY SPIRIT to write the Book of Matthew?
Matthew was a publican [tax collector] called by JESUS to discipleship as one of the Twelve Disciples. He was also called Levi. He was an apostle. This means he was an eyewitness and participant to the ministry of JESUS CHRIST, the Resurrected CHRIST and the Ascension firsthand. He is also called Matthew the Evangelist as he traveled to Ethiopia, Macedonia [Greece], Persia and Parthia [Iran] spreading the Gospel. Matthew was martyred in Egypt

Terminology: Antinomian
Antinomianism is the heretical belief that everything is permissible since salvation is by Grace. It leads to presumptuous sin and flies in the face of Romans 6 and is a misunderstanding/misinterpretation of not being under the law meaning we are not accountable to keep the law.

Tough Question: What about those who have never heard the Gospel? How will GOD judge them?
Answer: In perfect righteousness and justice

Consider this answer from Matt Slick of CARM:

What about those who have never heard the Gospel?

    1. That is a good question. The Bible says that God is a just God. We know that whatever He does is right. When it comes to those who have never heard the Gospel, He will do what is right, whatever that is. But as for you, you have heard the gospel and He will judge you according to how you respond. He is calling you to repentance, to turn from sin and come to Him.
    2. In Romans 2:12-16 it speaks about those who have never heard the Law of God and how they will be judged according to the law that is written in their hearts. The Law written in their hearts is the knowledge of right and wrong. Perhaps God's judgment of those without a proper knowledge of Him is included there where it says that they will be judged according to their own consciences that "bear witness, and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them." All I know is that God will do what is right and the only way to have your sins forgiven is through Jesus.

Fun, Family, Friends, Fitness, Finance, Faith, and Forecast Friday

Heavenly FATHER,

YOU made time, space and matter – every atom everywhere. YOU rotate the Earth and cause it to revolve around the sun. YOU made us, even in YOUR image and likeness. We are given freedom of will by YOU. Therefore, this is indeed the day that YOU have made, we will to be joyous and glad in that context. Our determined joy is a salute to YOUR Goodness FATHER GOD and our intentional gladness represents an appreciative and content acknowledgement of YOUR Sovereignty and love. Thank YOU ABBA for today! Hallelujah! Thank YOU for the air we breathe - for every inhale is blessing; therefore, every exhale should be praise. Thank YOU for the Blood– for life is in the blood that courses through veins and we are truly alive because of the Blood that was shed on Calvary…Hallelujah! Thank YOU we will rejoice! It is all YOURS; therefore, we will rejoice in it…by the SPIRIT in JESUS name…Amen

Fun:
Yes, the kids are back in school and the traffic has increased; however, even with the increased busyness make sure you infuse some joy in your schedule. Be proactive about your appointments, including the fun ones. It is incumbent upon us to intentionally find joy in the little things. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Find the smile in the mirror and find time to entertain the kid inside appropriately and in a balanced manner…

Comedian of the Week: Michael Jr

Sports:
Football is back…the college and professional football seasons have begun with a bang. Last night the Packers and Saints had nice displays of fine quarterbacking from Aaron Rogers of the Green Bay and Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints. It went down to the wire with New Orleans being stopped on the goal on the last play of the game, securing a Green Bay victory…

Family:
Are you eating together? Are you eating at the same time and in the same room as a family? So much of family binding takes place around food during the big occasions like Thanksgiving, etc. Why not infuse that joy and quality time on a regular basis at home? Create a device free as possible timeslot, where no mobile devices are permitted, expect agreed upon television programming. Enjoy a meal and really listen to and encourage one another…
Here’s an article on some benefits of eating together: http://www.sparkpeople.com/resource/nutrition_articles.asp?id=439

Friends:
If a person lies to you about who they are in major repeated ways, are they your friend? You can forgive a friend but we find it difficult to forgive someone who lied about who they really are; because, we are not sure who to forgive. Lying is a multiple personality disorder. There is the actual person and at least one other avatar they project. We are called to forgive and love but proximity or safe distance is a judgment call. Rely on the HOLY SPIRIT and guard your heart…but love them whether close or at a distance…

Fitness:
Be sure to get good sleep. Increased tasks because the kids are back in school and shortening of daylight as the sun is setting earlier make for trying to squeeze more things in what seems to shorter day. Pace yourself and make sure you get to bed at a reasonable time. Here’s a good article on getting a good night’s sleep: http://helpguide.org/life/sleep_tips.htm

Finances:
There are very good programs that help track your expenses. Here are some of the best money management apps for your Android: http://www.leavedebtbehind.com/money-hacks/money-tools/best-10-free-android-money-apps/

Faith:
What dream do you trust GOD to bring to pass in your life? A wise man who was counseling my wife and I told us to dare to dream, even in the midst of difficulty. Pray on it...Now. Next...Get out a piece of paper and write it down…

Forecast:
Those who fail to plan are planning to fail…Have you scheduled your year? OK, ok…how about the month? OK…what about the week? OK…to reduce stress begin to plan your next few days – not minute by minute or even hourly. Let’s start with using you phone, Outlook or even a piece of paper and list the things you plan to accomplish tomorrow. Do not over do it and plan too many things but put things in your schedule in order of importance then give them enough time in your day to complete them. Now you are planning to win tomorrow…from there we can forecast success. Oh, and don’t forget to schedule some fun

I love YOU and I love you

Thirsty Thursday: Serving Milk to GOD

Heavenly FATHER,

I ask in JESUS name, yet with care and humility…I humbly approach YOU on behalf of the many that have yet to receive the Gospel, who needs YOU…who needs Grace. I ask and am thankful that YOU continue to equip servants to minister to them. I humbly ask and am thankful for healing of sin-sick souls. I humbly ask and am thankful for provision for those that are so impoverished that they can’t hear YOU and a heart to serve for those so well off that they think they do not need YOU. There is famine in the land. A dearth of fathers equip with YOUR Word and Wisdom to bring stability to families. There are those who need gainful employment, a plan, a dream, a hope and the wisdom and strength to accomplish; but, as we are weak, YOUR strength is made perfect. We reverently desire YOUR presence and pray to honor YOU with obedience and hospitality. We thank YOU in faith by the SPIRIT for hearing and answering in JESUS name…Amen

Thirsty Thursday: Serving Milk to GOD

Genesis 18:2-3  And he lift up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood by him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself toward the ground,  (3)  And said, My Lord, if now I have found favour in thy sight, pass not away, I pray thee, from thy servant:

And he took butter, and milk, and the calf which he had dressed, and set it before them; and he stood by them under the tree, and they did eat.  (Genesis 18:8)

This was a Theophany or Christophany. It was an appearance of GOD in human form…GOD and two angels came to visit Abraham in a form he could more readily serve, receive and communicate with…as men…

Abraham was not only reverent, he was hospitable to GOD. He ran to meet HIM, he bowed prostrate and asked HIM to remain in his presence. He didn’t stop there. He offered a comfortable place in the shade. He offered his best and stood, while HE ate. Remember there was no refrigerator, so everything was prepared from scratch…that’s hospitality!

Are you running to meet HIM?
Are you bowing before HIM?
Are you asking for favor in faith and reverence?
Are you hiding from HIM or asking HIM not to leave?
Are you offering your best, from scratch?

HE is ever present so…We always show HIM how we really feel about HIM. It sounds like work. It’s not. It’s humble thankful reverent worship…

Watchful Witness Wednesday: Minister Did You Notice?

What is Omnispective...

My YHWH GOD has Omnispective. It is complete awareness. It is a combination of HIS Omnipresence, Omnipotence, HIS Foreknowledge, HIS Wisdom, Intentionality and HIS Design. If anyone understands, it is HIM. HE is completely aware of who you are, what you did and what you are going through– Brother Jeremy A. Maynard

Watching and Praying

Heavenly FATHER,

We are thankful for life. Please ABBA…Sharpen our perception of the context of our existence by the HOLY SPIRIT. Help us really see what is around us. As faith is our vision and pleases YOU, apportion to us revelation. We are designed to herald YOUR goodness. Please LORD…Let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in YOUR Omnispective. Please shed light on that which stirs us to love better. Help us to effectuate YOUR peace and wisdom with fervency. Let us actively and relevantly see ourselves in CHRIST and CHRIST in ourselves. Help us to listen better…to YOU…to our spouses…to our children…to our families…to our pastors and ministers…the BODY extended…to the BODY locally…to stewards of YOUR authority…to our co-workers…to our mentors…to our neighbors…to our hurting society and travailing Earth. Help us to not only listen but take note, research YOUR wisdom and act on it…the weather is changing – naturally, socially, economically and  spiritually. Guide us LORD. We love YOU LORD. We thank YOU LORD for today…we are watching in JESUS name…Amen

Thought Sparks: Ministers Did You Notice:
Did you notice the availability of increased exposure of the Gospel in all media forms?

Did you notice the media most used by teens? Are you texting or IMing encouragement to  any youth or tech-savvy adults at all?

Are you monitoring what society is selling? Example, with the increase of Viagra-type stimulants normal age barriers/lines are being increasingly crossed. How will we minister to this?

Is there a growing hostility toward traditional married parents in secular society?

Is there a concerted effort to emasculate men?

We have a lot to consider and pray about...

Tell me what you think...

I love YOU and I love you
